By now I am sure that most of you know that our Director of Communications, Eric Miller, and I were whisked away to Brizo Fashion Week in New York City. Our host and sponsor for the trip, Brizo Faucets, chose seventeen other designers and architects from around North America to join them for this prestigious event! They rolled out the red carpet with an all expense paid trip, including a new chic hotel, delicious meals, limo rides, and even free faucets!
Upon arriving in New York, we were picked up by our driver and were brought to the lovely Eventi hotel located in Chelsea. The Brizo event kicked off with a meet and greet cocktail reception on Wednesday evening where we first met not only the staff from Brizo, MSL group (PR Company), but also our fellow attendees. Eric and I were excited to see old friends and meet new ones.
The next day we woke up early for a team breakfast before the full day of the Brizo product sessions began. For those of you who have not heard of or used Brizo products here is a brief video introduction into the company.
As you can see, Brizo takes their advertising to a new level with beautiful colors and graphics. I was impressed with their current campaign, where they commissioned fashion illustrators from around the world to create artwork that evoked dreams and fashion. It was also fascinating to hear about the different inspiration sources from travel abroad for each collection.
Something else that you may have noticed in the video was the chic Talo faucet featuring Smart Touch technology. The group received a one on one demonstration from lead Brizo designer, Judd Lord, and all I can say is AMAZING! No need to use handles to turn on/off the faucet?! Extraordinary….This technology comes as an upgrade in three of their faucets lines–the Venuto, the Pascal, and the Talo. They are available in different finishes, so be sure to check out which one would work best in your kitchen! For those of you looking to purchase a faucet, I am offering a free consultation on which Brizo product and finish will look best for your kitchen. Just be sure to comment below and I will be in touch (no pun intended).
Some of you may be asking yourselves, “Ok, so why did a faucet company fly you to New York for Fashion Week?” The answer is quite simple! Brizo is a fashion forward company that not only appreciates good fashion but also implements it into their faucet design.
For example, the concept behind the RSVP bath faucet (shown above) was a woman’s figure silhouetted by an elegant dress. Can you see the similarity? Stunning right? Also, how exquisite is the crystal accessory that perfectly complements this beautiful faucet?!
To further reinforce their commitment to fashion, Brizo sponsored an unknown designer by the name of Jason Wu beginning in 2005. Today Jason Wu’s name is iconic within the fashion industry where he has gained fame and a large following after designing Michelle Obama’s inauguration dress.
As a sponsor for Mr. Wu, Brizo invited us all to the Jason Wu fashion show that took place on Friday afternoon. Here are a few pictures taken from the Fall 2011 Collection show:
This stunning collection was inspired by photos of Versailles. I am always curious to hear about how other designers were inspired, so I was fascinated to hear this. His main colors were neutrals and blacks, with bursts of vibrant color on certain pieces. His classic style, his incredible sense of proportion and his commitment to detail is sensational.
I was absolutely memorized by this dress with its golden tones and simple lines! So elegant—a look that will last forever!
After the show, the Brizo staff had selected me to go backstage. It was thrilling to see the models, all of the beautiful clothes, and all of the people that had made this show successful. I watched Mr. Wu get interviewed by various media outlets, and then was able to take a photo with him while briefly discussing the show.
Our amazing trip ended at the MPE Penthouse with the most exquisite views of Manhattan through floor to ceiling windows and a wrap around terrace. This location provided the perfect spot for the private cocktail party with Jason Wu and his team. We were able to ask him questions about everything from his favorite designer to the one person he would love to dress! We also watched a video of the fashion show from that day. He is such a remarkable person, and we appreciate his time in meeting with us. Here is a photo of Eric and I with Jason Wu during the cocktail party.
We would like to thank Brizo, The MSL Group, and Jason Wu for inviting us to be a part of New York Fashion Week! Eric and I both have a new appreciation for the phenomenal Brizo brand of faucets. I could not have been more impressed with this company on all fronts, and they have made me excited to purchase and specify their faucets for my clients. I foresee a lifelong relationship between Brizo and Studio M.
Lastly, we hope you will check out our video below that highlights our entire trip titled “Studio M’s Empire State of Mind.”
