Chandeliers Part Deux!

As promised here is chandeliers part deux!

Since relocating to Tampa we’ve really considered South Tampa an extension of our living space. We make the most of our weekends; discovering hidden gems and visiting classic Tampa staples. We relish having a couple of small plates, sipping some red wine, and soaking up atmosphere! Lately that ‘atmosphere’ translates into chic chandeliers everywhere.

I love tooling around town on my vintage Schwinn as Chris and I pride ourselves on leaving the car at home. We made our way down South Howard and stopped at The Lodge to taste some of their magnificent hamburger sliders. While waiting for our food to arrive, I looked up and was delighted to find this family of smiley, citrus-y fixtures illuminating the interiors.

The Point, Tampa Florida

A couple of weeks ago we hit up the Straz downtown to see the Afro Cuban All Stars (highly recommended). We popped into the Point at the bottom of the iconic downtown high rise, Skypoint, for some sushi – yum! We sank into high back velveteen settee’s while overlooking the University of Tampa and Curtis Hixon Park – stunning. I felt lucky to sit under these sparkly chandelier’s while enjoying a great evening with my husband.

On our way to Straz we strolled by Taps, the restaurant and beer haven, and knew that we had to check this place out. Just a few weekends later we did!! We sat on their patio in comfy lounge chairs to wait for our friends to arrive. When we went inside wouldn’t you know it….More Chandeliers! I absolutely adore the slate color palette and stone wall not to mention how it was softened by the twinkly lights of the chandelier. Sugar loves that they are canine friendly. Well done!

Columbia Restaurant, Ybor

Whenever we have out of town guests, hopping the trolley to Ybor for dinner at Columbia is always on the list. It’s a local icon and I love the over the top traditional decor – no shortage of chandeliers here! We always start with the 1905 salad-served table side.

Before heading out to these great spots, and because this Florida weather is getting so hot; I love to stop by Clover (on Platt) and gobble up their fun inexpensive t-shirts. Wouldn’t you know it? Shop owner Tabitha hung a chandelier in her space to add just the right amount of swish.

Black Chandelier

One of my favorite online chandelier stops is Black Chandelier. This site has some of the most stunning chandeliers and yes they are all black! This one in particular would look great in my master bedroom!

A friend said to me once that design is a lifestyle and I couldn’t agree more! Whether I’m at home, having a meal, shopping, riding my bike or surfing the net, why not do it in style! I’d love it if you’d share a picture of your favorite chandelier! As you can see Sugar and I are always on the hunt!

Remember all people deserve good design!

Great stuff, and all great sots. The Point and Taps are cool/chic but not pretentious. The original Columbia is amazing as always. Clover is a great shot for good prices as well…

    Nice work.

I love chandeliers!! Black chandeliers are new to me – loved the 12 Light Black Crystal Chandelier at the site you mentioned.
It’s cool to see how they fit in so many different design venues.
