Kitchen Backsplash Ideas

There is one thing that I feel is absolutely necessary in a kitchen- and that is a backsplash. Not only is it a functional design feature (easier clean-up for grease splatters & other cooking messes)- but it is the perfect way to bring in a splash of color into an otherwise boring kitchen! Take a look at some of my favorite backsplash inspiration photos for some ideas of your own…

So don’t be afraid to bring in a pop of something unique into your kitchen- whether it’s contemporary glass tiles, classic white subway tiles, or funky metallic penny tiles, have fun with it! Feel free to share your kitchen backsplash ideas on our Facebook page!!

Loved this entry in Studio M and mostly all I’ve seen, except for the very distinct zig zag one. I think I’d get vertigo from that after a bit, but still and all–what pizzazz. My own kitchen layout is very much like the last pic with the range hood between the two windows. In fact, your website featured our kitchen (from the HGTV Rate My Space website) and that is how I came to be acquainted with this very cool blog! Keep it up–I really enjoy this blog SO much!! Regards, Lorraine

All fabulous examples!! In my current kitchen I don’t have a backsplash because the sink is in the island and the stove has its stainless attachment – but in my last house I had an entire wall of Delft tiles and I loved it!! A backsplash really adds an element of design interest in a kitchen!!

These are all very stunning kitchen backsplashes :) .  I completely agree that a kitchen needs a backsplash.  It adds so much character to the kitchen and jazzes up the space!  We specialize in mother of pearl tiles.  People have been using them in kitchens and baths.  I thought I’d throw that out there as another possible kitchen backsplash idea!

That photo shows an interesting combination of ideas… I have a question
though. I am looking to do my tile backsplash – just got some beautiful
quartz my builder found at Web Don, and I am interested in matching the
tile to the new quartz countertops. What is the best type of tile to use?
I plan on integrating it with the Kitchen Palette option that Web Don also
offers (its an interchangeable tile piece that will be placed over my stove
top) so I need something that would match or work year round, based upon
    changes!

BTW..their website is http://www.web-don.com — you can find all the info on Kitchen Palette there!!! And a ton of other great ideas. A must see for remodelers or builders!!
