Picking Paint Colors
With the furniture selected, paintings picked, pillows made and curtains decided upon, I’m happy to say that my apartment décor is almost complete, (pictures coming soon!). My generic rental apartment is being transformed into a personal reflection of me, housing the things I love and hold most dear. So what’s left? Picking paint colors! Your selected paint colors and patterns should be determined by the mood you wish to express. What would be your color and pattern of choice?
Painted stripes are a great decorative element and can be used to add a splash of pizzazz to any space. Horizontal stripes will make your space appear larger while vertical stripes will add height to your ceiling. Painted stripes will give your walls a crisp patterned design without the hassle of wallpaper.
Accent walls can make a powerful decorative statement in your home. Don’t be afraid to mix up your color scheme. Bold colors pair great with neutrals, allowing them to stand out just enough to make a statement without being overpowering.
A neutral color scheme is a safe choice for any size room or space. The tone is soothing, making them great for areas of relaxation and comfort. For an added punch of color, pair them with bold colored accessories.
Painted motifs make great conversational elements and will give your walls an artistic edge. Create your own personalized piece to fit your own unique style. I love the amount of drama that has been created in this living space from the wavering tree motif.
With just a hint of blue, steel grey won me of as my color of choice. It pairs well with a variety of colors, giving each space a crisp modern edge. I’m excited to say it will soon dress the walls throughout my new apartment.
