Wait! Before you turn away, let me just tell you that this isn’t your average wallpaper installation. In recent years, wallpaper has started to carry somewhat of a negative connotation. Compared to paint, it’s seen harder to install, completely unbearable to take down and easily outdated. Well with this post, I hope I can change your mind about a few of those things. I might not win you over as a fan, but at least now, when your picking out your finishes and selections, wallpaper might stand a fighting chance. I love wallpaper and the impact it can have in a space. Here are a few unique ways you can easily incorporate it into your own décor.
I love how wallpaper was creatively added to these chair backs to give them an updated funky twist. Adding wallpaper to your décor in small doses can have a large impact. Dressed on the cabinets, the selected wallpaper designs add color and texture to the otherwise plain white cabinetry.
If you’re a blog lover (as I am), you might have noticed that recycling and restoring furniture has become a favorite pastime of many designers and decorators. What tears me apart is when a person spends so much time tenderly resorting the outer frame of a piece, only to completely forget about giving the interior any love. Wallpaper makes for a great solution! Use it to add a splash of pizzazz to your newly restored furniture piece so that it’s interior shines as brightly as the exterior.
How could you not love this wallpaper? Granted, it probably wouldn’t look great in your dining room, I think it would make a great addition to a children’s bedroom. Looking to spark their imagination? Look no further. With this framed wallpaper design your child can let their imagination run wild. You can insert photos, pieces of art, notes, really the possibilities are endless.
We all know that you can use paint to restore your outdated furniture, but have you ever thought about dressing it in wallpaper? I love the old and somewhat vintage feel that these wallpaper patterns give these furniture pieces. It’s an inexpensive way to give your furniture piece a new and updated custom look.
The right wallpaper design can make the perfect backdrop to your display. When incorporating this design idea into your décor, I find that it’s best to use bright colors.
Spice up your work space by adding a patterned wallpaper to your work shelves (these photos have inspired me to create my own out of the wooden shelves I recently purchased from IKEA). You can also use wallpaper to create your own inspirational pin board. These would look great set up in your office space.
There’s nothing a women loves more than her closet (okay okay there might be a few things), so why not make it in to something that you would be proud to put on display? Adding wallpaper to your closets interior can transform your ordinary closet from boring and drab to fashionably delightful.
