“Oh Snap it’s Friday!” and today we’re presenting to you a elegant collection of handmade treasures designed by Creek Van Houten of San Francisco, California. There is a certain element of elegance and old world charm brought about by each of these pieces. Less like jewelry and more like pieces of art, they are all heavily detailed and beautifully crafted. Made from a variety of found and stored materials, the collection includes everything from vintage necklaces to antique buttoned jewelry. The Antique Cameo Necklace and Steam Punk Ring are two of my favorites! Wonder where Creek Van Houten’s love of crafting began and how the collection Compass Rose Design came about?

“My tendency both for collecting as well as reassembling has been a lifelong project. I took apart my first stereo at age 7 and disassembled my first broken pocket watch at 9. In both cases, my goal was to repair the items, but upon realizing the parts were so beautiful, I began constructing art.”
