Whether you’re using them to create a focal wall or simply incorporating them through furnishings and fabrics, stripes are a great for adding an unexpected element of visual appeal to what might otherwise be a mundane space. The crisp lines and straight edges have a way of bringing about a modern element of sophistication to a space.

When it comes to creating and choosing your line patterns, your choice in scale should relay on the mood you wish to convey. Larger lines often pair better in spaces where relaxing is ideal. They give off the visual perception of an area being wider, open and airy. Smaller spaced lines make a great choice in gathering rooms and spaces where high energy, movement, and visual flow is ideal.

Stripes make for stunning accents and, on a larger scale, can make for even more impressive accent walls. To compose a more cohesive overall scheme, maintain a standard paint finish for all of your stripes whether you choose to go high gloss or matte. So what do you think?
