Eye Candy: Deliciously Decorated Walls
By: Jon Peters
The original Willy Wonka movie always kind of use to give me the creeps for some reason (it could have been the child predator/corporate spy Slugworth or Charlie’s immobile family members all sharing the same bed), but I did think the rooms in the factory were awesome and would be really fun if they existed in real life. We may be far from an Everlasting Gobstopper (I’m done with gum after like five seconds) but we’re one step closer to making deliciously designed rooms thanks to the funky wallpaper designers at Flavor Paper.
Not only do they create visual masterpieces, but they also offer super cool scented wallpapers. Paint can always set the tone of a room, but reflective scratch-n-sniff cherries express a whole lot more!
Brooklyn-based Flavor Paper can turn your wall covering visions into a reality with its unique range of wild and funky prints. They even take custom orders to incorporate your favorite colors, patterns, and scents while designing the covering of your dreams.
The fashion world has even been struck by Flavor Paper fever. Diane von Furstenberg used their “Cycloid” and “Circuit” wallpapers as a backdrop for this year’s ads for her resort wear collection.
In related news across the pond, London-based communications firm Enginge has taken the scratch-n-sniff concept even further by installing lickable wallpaper in one of its elevators. Apparently the wallpaper tastes like “Jaffa Cakes”, a popular brand of cookies over in the U.K., and the bellman promises to remove each cookie off the wall after it has been licked. (How many calories are in a wall cookie?)
The flavor revolution may just be catching on, but thanks to companies like Flavor Paper you can step into your surroundings feeling like “you’ve got the golden ticket”! (And good luck getting that song stuck out of your head..)
