SmartFlyer’s List of the Top 5 Hotel Pools
It’s finally summertime and that means that we’re all dreaming of jumping into an ice-cold pool. Not just any pool, however. This summer five specific properties come to mind.
First on the list is the pool at the Hotel Caruso in Ravello, Italy. The Caruso is an Orient-Express property located on Italy’s breathtaking Almafi Coast. We’re not the first ones to give this little slice of heaven its accolades. The pool at the Caruso has been acknowledged as one of the best in the world by both Forbes and U.S. News. It has an infinity edge that bleeds into the Tyrrhenian Sea, and as if that weren’t enough, the pool is also surrounded by 11th Century Roman Ruins.
The pool at the Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore is another one of our favorites. It measures 25 meters long and has been built on the rooftop of this five star, waterfront property. The pool’s sleek design mimics the surrounding city, although one can’t help but feel removed from all of the chaos at this height.
As if one infinity pool weren’t enough, the pool at Amankila, an Aman Resort in East Bali, is separated into three tiers. Each level overlooks the Lombok Strait, a strait that connects the Java Sea and the Indian Ocean. Both the pool and the hotel’s design have been influenced by a Zen way of life. This hotel company is all about inspiring tranquility within guests, hence the name Aman, meaning peace.
A little bit closer to home is the Mosaic Pool at the Montage in Laguna Beach, California. This hotel is set along the Pacific Coast and encompasses 30 waterfront acres. The pool is appropriately named for the tile sun that decorates its bottom. Along the pool’s edge are rows of lounge chairs, although the Montage also offers guests Poolside cabanas for rent for $300 per day. These chic structures come equipped with a TV, an iPad and a personal wait staff.
Last on the list is the Espa Life pool at the Corinthia Hotel in London. This pool is located on the designated ‘thermal floor’ of the spa and has been constructed out of steel. The walls surrounding the pool have been specially designed to reflect the water, making those guests who are lucky enough to visit feel completely immersed. Given the combination of tranquil water, dark walls and dim lighting, one can’t help but feel totally at ease here.
Which would you most love to dive into on a hot day? Happy summer everybody!
