What is Eclectic | Eclectic Style | Eclectic
Style & Individuality
By: Ashlee Kozel
For this “Oh Snap It’s Friday,” I thought that it would be fun to feature a completely fun and outrageous boutique shop owned by none other than Ms. Free Spirit herself, Ashlee Kozel. Ashlee’s shop, The Dandy Lion Boutique, is located in an old downtown area in Enterprise, Alabama. The store is in a building that is over 100 years old so it still has its original wrought iron beams, a wrought iron balcony overlooking the downstairs level, and a super creepy attic that “Ghost Hunters” needs to come visit asap. Since she has a rocking style, we thought it would be fun for her to drop on in and share some of it with us!
Style is defined as a design or make in a particular form, and each of us has a specific style that compliments our own personalities. For example. I am a traveller, free spirit, Audrey Hepburn addict, and a lover of all things design. I have had a random life full of different countries, cultures, and influences, so when it came time to design and create my very own boutique, I learned quickly that my specific style is eclectic, funky and whimsical in all aspects of my life. I opened up my shop in January of this year, and every single day I see men and women that are drawn to something, whether it is an obsession with stripes, a love for a black and white combo, and the list goes on and on. It can be just like a moth to a flame, and that is exactly what style creates.
We never know what it is that draws us to a certain something every single time we go shopping, listen to music, rearrange a room, pick a restaurant, (etc, etc, etc) but inevitably it is a specific style that is simply calling your name. My career is based on creating a mix of fashions that will eventually end up in someones closet, so always remember to stick with your gut feelings/weird obsessions and grow your style into something that will stand out and truly represent you as an individual. Here are a few more pictures that are SO my style! Enjoy…
