I Got 99 Problems But My Fashion Ain’t One: Mix High & Low
By: Ashlee Kozel
We are so excited to announce that our good friend and fashion aficionado, Ashlee Kozel, will be joining us every Friday to talk Fashion. Ashlee not only lives, eats, and breaths fashion, but she also owns her own boutique: The Dandy Lion Boutique. Oh and we knew she would be a perfect fit when she choose to call her blog series…Wait for it!! “I Got 99 Problems But My Fashion Ain’t One.” Genius!!
The number one reason why I love fashion so much is the excitement of building a mix within your wardrobe. There are thousands of brand names and labels out there, and we all get to choose a unique mix to incorporate with our own personal style. For example, I lived in Europe during high school, so most high fashion items that I own are from living overseas.
While attending USF in Tampa, I worked at the J.Crew in International Plaza, so during that period I bought nothing but madras and button-ups! These days I am thankful for all of my previous experiences because now I have a seriously random closet which is so much fun to experiment with.
The Jacket in this outfit post is a vintage fur blazer from the 1950s, which is really cool because it has been handed down from my grandmother, to my mother, and now to me!
I don’t know if you could tell or not, but I am obsessed with Chanel and have been obsessed since I can remember. Every year I try and make one huge splurge at the Chanel store (and sometimes I even get lucky at the outlets!) I grabbed these Chanel flats from the Neimans outlet in Orlando (it was like the Chanel Gods had arranged it themselves!)
The vintage Chanel chain is from an awesome vintage store in London. I literally saved every paycheck for a year to splurge on my London fashion adventure! The beauty of spending more $$ on accessories is the fact that they will never go out of style and you can use them every single day, pass them on to your children, dress up a basic outfit, etc etc.
The dress I paired in this outfit is actually from my store, The Dandy Lion Boutique, and it is great because not very many people will have it AND I only paid $56!
You can purchase The Sequin Stardust Cocktail Dress ($56) and much more reasonably priced threads and jewels online here. Also be sure to like us on Facebook to keep up with all of our new arrivals!!
