New York Fashion Week 2012

Fashion season is in full swing during the month of September, with fashion weeks all over the world! Fashion Week is such an important time for many industries (not just fashion,) because the trends for the next year are on full display. This year, the Spring 2013 collection is right on point with the current fall season as well. Back in the day, seasonal trends were pretty black and white…like browns and darker hues for fall and winter, then pastels and florals for spring and summer. But now, it seems that the typical seasons are completely washed away, and anything goes!

Some of my favorite labels from the shows have been Alice + Olivia, Kate Spade, J.Crew, and Burberry. I loved these brands specifically because they all seemed to push the current trends like neon and pastel color, bright and bold patterns, and embellishments.

Fashion is a direct reflection of your own personality, so why on earth would anyone want to blend in with the crowd? These top Fashion Week picks of mine are quiet the opposite, because standing out should be a priority. Most luxury labels are taking more and more risks with colors and patterns, and I think it is fabulous!
