Spectacular Stained Glass

I’ve always been drawn to colorfully lit things (much like a bug to a zapper) and something that I find pretty fascinating is sunlit stained glass windows. In fact, every year for Christmas I find myself wanting to leave the tree on all night just so I can see the colorfully designed masterpiece when I walk past the living room. Traditionally stained glass windows were something that you’d find in an ornate church or cathedral but today you can see stained glass used in many different ways, including contemporary buildings, accessories, and art installations. The utilization of different colored glass tiles brightens up practically every space that any regular old window could, while infusing fun and personality in addition to plain sunlight. I think typically most people who have stained glass probably have it in a decorative window or table lamp, but I love to see it used in a more modern, fashionable way like in the following pictures. How fun is that door at the bottom of the stairs, or the terminal with the elevator? BTW, don’t even get me started on that awesomely colorful water tank overlooking Manhattan! Who couldn’t fall in love with stained glass?
