Dark & Fabulous
By: Jon Peters
Dark colors in your home can add some glamor and a lot of drama. Staples such as black or navy paint for walls or wainscoting can do the trick, as well as nostalgic items such as typewriters or old trunks. Fixtures speak volumes in a dark environment, so the incorporation of light, metals, and wood can also capture a dramatically dark home look. I’m a big fan of natural light, but I could totally envision myself enjoying a fantastically dramatic man-cave(ish) look. Worn-in leather sofas as well as mirrors, framed photos, and even antlers can add to a dramatically vintage feel for any interior. Weathered and exposed elements like exposed brick or a loft-style interior definitely help complement the dark and fabulous aesthetic.
