Tampa Bar | City Tour | Bike Ride | Sail Pavilion | Website

Chris and I had seen this advertised and run into the lively cyclists in the neighborhood many times. Each time I saw the crew it put a smile on my face! We finally arranged a day when we could sneak out of work early enough to make the departure time. Especially since stop #1 was at our beloved Sail Pavilion on the Hillsborough River right at the base of the Harbor Island Bridge.

City Tour | Bike Ride | Bicycle Safety | Bike Light

We had prepared ahead made sure that the tires were pumped, lights were in place and helmets by the door. I LOVE my Bookman light – those Europeans always have a keen eye for design even when it is something so simple (but important) as safety for cycling!

When we arrived a large crowd was already gathering and as we signed in Kelly, the shop owner, said this tour would hit 100 cyclists!!

Tampa | Restaurant | City Tour | Bike Ride | New World Brewery

After some mingling and a meatball slider we were ready to attack stop 2; Ybor here we come! I was stoked as we had often passed by New World Brewery on our way into Centro Ybor via trolley and I always wanted to stop! Today was the day. Good news! Oven baked pizza delicious, yummy selection of imported beers, staff friendly and attentive and the laid back décor and music took me back to a college night out with delight.

Next we rode on to Sunday’s Deli. The Deli opened especially for the tour and gave away beer for free! Need I say more, we like this place already. Then they also served up over stuffed gourmet deli sandwiches and savory creative sides. We noshed feverishly with new friends. This is a blast!

Tampa Park | City Tour | Bike Ride | Curtis Hixon

Last stop already? TAPS! Right across from Cutis Hixon Park downtown. I had hoped to get lucky with the Raffle drawing but no such luck….next time for sure. I always love coming down here after night with the city aglow and the University in the back ground –lovely! Taps doesn’t disappoint EVER –their gastro pub food and endless selections of both beer and wine…I could stay here all night. Good thing you can sample just a sip as we do have to ride home it’s a school night ☹

Conclusion: What a super fun night mixing with locals and supporting amazing local businesses! Will definitely do it again ☺
